Outfitting Samuel

It is so easy to put my little man in footed pajamas everyday. Which is pretty much all he ever wears. However, today he's wearing a cute outfit with a hoodie and I couldn't help but capturing it. I need to start putting him these outfits more. We are heading down to Olympia for the day to spend time with friends.

Go Wild - Timber!!!

Yet another installment in our "Go Wild" series.  Grace has decided she enjoys falling flat on her face - literally.  Strangely enough, this has become part of the bedtime routine.  Don't worry about her hitting her head with some random flop on the floor, she already knows she's only allowed to flop on the bed, and only AFTER the "pillow of safety" has been properly positioned. 

Sibling Differences

It's amazing how different your infant experiences can be when you have multiple children. Grace is such a blessing and joy in our life but she was not an easy baby. And to be honest, still is quite the challenge, just in different ways. As an infant she was colicky, difficult to soothe and a finicky sleeper. Samuel on the other hand is my dream baby. He gets fussy from time to time and can occasionally be difficult to get to sleep but nothing more than the average baby. Overall he whimpers instead of cries. I have yet to hear this little man really test out his lungs. The worst so far would have to be his grunting as he shifts in and out of sleep, which is worse in the wee hours of the morning while I'm still trying to catch some Z's. But if this is the worst of it...I'll take it. Scott keeps trying to remind me that Grace was good up until this point and then got colicky, arguing that we are not in the clear yet. Let's just say our memory of events usually don't coincide. We'll see how the the coming weeks and months pan out, but I think Samuel overall is gonna be much more even tempered than his older sis. He'll soon be 8 weeks old, and is growing at record speed, weighing in at just over 11 lbs this week. Here are a few new photos.

The Sky is Falling

Yesterday was a strange day.  Late in the afternoon we had a hail storm pass through.  Sarah caught a bit on video.




Later, in an unrelated(?) incident, or because she thought the sky was falling, Grace had a go-wild.  We only caught about 1/3 of if on tape.  As you can tell from the tape, I was only adding fuel to the fire, as usual.

Zee-bahhhs Revisited

Grace, Samuel and I braved the zoo today with the help of my aunt and saw many new animals not found at our local zoo. Two of which are giraffes and zebras. Yes, Grace still calls giraffes "zee-bahhhs" but seeing them in person provided another teaching opportunity. We even got to stand on a platform and feed the long necked creatures.

First Haircut

After being made fun of repeatedly by her uncles in Arizona for her "mullet" we decided to take Grace for a haircut. She cried at first until she got a strawberry lollipop and it was smooth sailing from there. The mullet isn't entirely gone. Her hair still has some growing out to do but at least it's a clean mullet!

Family Photos Revealed

For Christmas my siblings gave me a present that is likely one of my all time favorites: a professional photo session and digital prints for the new baby and our family. We had the pleasure of Alicen Lum in Federal Way (http://www.alicenlum.com/) take them in her studio and she did a spectacular job of not only taking beautiful photos of our family but also soothing Samuel in between takes and showing humor and patience while he peed and pooped numerous times on multiple props and her.
